TECHNOZON-2K19 -> AN ENGINEER’S HAVEN
With the aim to ideate, nurture and propel technological ideas and insights, New Horizon Institute of Technology and Management – Thane, organized its 4 th Annual Technical Festival Technozon-2K19. The Techfest was deliberately without a technology theme, and it was left to the students to showcase their ideas, prototypes, and visions.
The highlights of Technozon 2K19 were interesting project exhibits set up by the First Year Students (which included a hand gesture-controlled car, soil water percentage sensor etc)as well as the RC Car by the Mechanical Department and the Firebird Robot and RC Aircraft by the Mechatronics Department. Robo Mania, Developers Date, Designers battle, Quizzes etc were some of the Technical events which saw students participating in large numbers. Technical Paper Presentations also saw the FinalYear girls from each branch put forth their projects and ideas ensuring a friendly rivalry among them all. Non-Technical events like Counter strike, PUBG, Neon cricket and Escape room etc. were organized to keep the event light hearted. TECHNOZON-2K19 was an event by the students, for the students and it lived up to its expectations !
STUDENTS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
In the current fast developing world, students should be able to cope up with technological development. The institute encourages students to initiate development of prototypes, participate in e-Yantra Ideas Competitions, workshops, research conventions, industrial visits which enables them to seamlessly integrate with the professional environment in future.
As a part of this initiative, NHITM’s Robotics Club students developed the IOT enabled bell system which rings a bell under a programmed interval of time. The system was eventually installed in the Institute. The students of this club also designed an eco-friendly Smart Dustbin to collect the garbage which can sense human movement, thus automatically opening the dustbin door.
The Student Chapter of The Computer Society of India conducts regular workshops for development of theory and practical aspects in various domains related to Computer Science like: Basics of IOT.
New Horizon Motorsports is the automotive chapter of NHITM that represented the college in the biggest international student design competition FORMULA STUDENT/FSAE. The team aims to bring out the concepts learnt in the classroom and apply them to real time designing and incorporating all the aspects of a real world engineering project including research, designing and manufacturing.
