Guru Purnima
Guru Purnima is a tradition dedicated to all the spiritual and academic Gurus, who are evolved or enlightened humans, ready to share their wisdom with very little or no monetary expectation. It is celebrated as a festival in India every July, to revere their chosen teachers / leaders and express their gratitude.
NHITM celebrates the same with Sarswati Puja. The staff members are facilitated by offering Tulsi Plant as a token of love and respect.
Fresher's Day
NHITM welcomes its newest entrants – the students of the First Year, in a grand event celebrating the intent to imbibe education, associate with NHITM and graduate as future engineers. NHITM is not all study and no play – and to make up this point, the Second-Year students of each branch, along with the help of the Student Council, hosts the Freshers Day in the month of September. This year the theme was ‘Masquerade’, where all students were encouraged to design and prepare their own masks, and don them for the event.
An interesting twist to the events is the ramp walk, which is judged on basis of three parameters – the walk, the attire and the mask, followed by a Q&A round with the judges. Miss Fresher and Mr. Fresher are then selected with a lot of fanfare.
The celebration culminates with a DJ party where all students let loose and dance to the latest tracks to their heart’s content.
Navratri
Navratri is a Hindu festival celebrated in the autumn every year. The celebration started by offering prayers to Goddess Navdurga followed by performing Garba and Dandiya Raas in traditional Garba attire. The students immersed themselves into a non- stop frenzy of Navratri dance to the steps of traditional folk songs and some peppy remixes. The fun event was also judged for the best dressed and best attire. After the entire day of celebrations and dance and letting free, the students were treated to a bagful of refreshments and photo-shoots of memories to look back at forever.

Women's Day
Women are the real architects of society. No Adam without Eve ! Every successful man is backed up by a woman who is always a step at the forefront to him. These are strong and immensely definitive words about a woman, and NHITM leaves no stone unturned to celebrate Women’s Day which is held on March 13 each year celebrating the power of a women.
It is always an amazing and encouraging session that brings about a new spirit of oneness amongst all the attendees, and an acknowledgement to all the women that they are the driving force chartering the lives of families.
What better examples could we have than Mother Teresa, Rani of Jhansi, Ms Indira Nooyi, Ms Nirmala Sitharaman and numerous countless sisters, daughters and mothers who have set benchmarks in their respective areas of work and contributions to society, and continue to be an
inspiration for all.
